US People’s Convoy Was a ‘gigantic Display of Freedom’ Despite Media Ignoring It

I had a dream, a nightmare, that a righteous cause would be subverted, undermined, made to look foolish by forces of the Swamp as the breathtaking truckers caravan arrived in the D.C. area last weekend.

It would have been easy – if they were not ALL of the right heart.

The truckers were suppressed, beyond question. The media ignored them, even – dare I say it – Fox News. The fake news didn’t know what to do with them. Some of them lied about the convoy. They excoriated the truckers as dangerous zealots, skinheads, Nazis and malcontents – just like they had done with the Canadian version.

But the media had a surprise coming. You can demean people all day, but good people rise to the occasion. And these were good-hearted people – salt-of-earth human beings who were fed up with the federal government, like all of us. And this was their moment – passing through the D.C. Beltway and doing an end run against the District of Criminals.

Cleverly bypassing Washington, the destination was Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland. They avoided the fences, the shock troops, the feds, Joe Biden’s illegitimate government, the regime, or whatever you want to call them. On Sunday, it was just beautiful, spectacular, a triumphant ending to a long nationwide protest of perfection. Let March 6 supersede Jan. 6. We’re getting too smart for another “insurrection.”

It was gigantic display for freedom, with American flags everywhere you turned. And it was another day for the good guys, the working people, the MAGA crowd, the CANCELED crowd to make themselves heard – just as our neighbors to the north did until Justin Trudeau show his colors as a tyrant.

They showed up in force. They showed up for their country. They showed up as the People’s Convoy. Just look at the pictures that cannot be denied, that cannot be forgotten or trivialized. EVER!

These patriots were protesting the same actions that have been taking place all over the once-free world – mask mandates, vaccine terrorism and one embarrassment after another for America.

“People are tired, they are fed up” with their freedoms being chipped away, said Kris Young, who was livestreaming the event on Facebook from the truck her husband drove. “Our kids and our grandkids are not going to be living in the same country that many of us grew up in.”

She called the event “very fluid,” as the truckers decided against clogging the streets of Washington, D.C.

“We can’t just go in there like a bull in a china shop and lock down D.C. and be infiltrated,” she said. “There is no long-term plans made. We never knew how big it was going to grow from one day to the next and we still don’t know that. … We want the emergency powers ended, which will do away with mask mandates. We want congressional hearings for accepting transparency.”

I played the “reluctant prophet” in my earlier column, “Who’s really in charge of America?” of Saturday. I was wrong, fainthearted, weak-minded. I did not believe in these people – there had to be wise guys, saboteurs in the pack, I thought. I attribute it to my early days growing up in New Jersey witnessing too much crime. I freely admit it.

I was still in a sad daze about the war in Ukraine. I was still stunned by Biden’s State of the Dis-Union address. I was still amazed at how the Demoncrats were still comparing the Jan. 6 kerfuffle to Pearl Harbor, the Civil War, and 9/11.

So mea culpa.

God bless America! The good guys won this round.

Tens of thousands of American Truckers from across the country will reach the DC Swamp tomorrow morning for a massive protest to pressure Biden to end the national state of emergency that was declared at the start of the pandemic, along with all the other public health mandates that have been used to restrict Americans’ constitutional rights.

They’re so close, DC can practically hear the honking already.

On Friday, the largest group, ‘The People’s Convoy,’ merged with another massive group when it arrived at its final rest stop in Hagerstown, Maryland, which is just 75 miles (90 minutes) away from the nation’s capital.

The convoy is now well over 10,000 vehicles long, including thousands of trucks. There are so many participants in the caravan that it has taken over three hours for them to get off the highway, and there is still no end in sight.

Take a look at the absolutely crazy scene at the Hagerstown Speedway, which is where The People’s Convoy will be making its headquarters throughout the upcoming protests.

Updates from over an hour later show that the line of cars still stretches out into the night for miles.

The massive convoy was met by another large group of truckers when they arrived in Hagerstown. Hundreds of vehicles waited for the main group to arrive for several hours, preparing the area for their arrival.

Once again, thousands of supporters also showed up to greet the truckers, bringing food, drinks, and supplies along with them to donate.

Tomorrow is going to be, as Trump would put it, YUUUUUUGE.

After one last night of rest, the truckers will depart for Washington DC in the morning to kick off the fireworks.

On Saturday, the over 70-mile-long convoy will head straight to the DC Beltway in order to shut down traffic surrounding the capital. The Beltway loop itself is just 63 miles long, so they should be able to pull off a significant disruption. Later in the day, there will also be a convoy rally somewhere “only two miles from the Beltway” where some GOP lawmakers are expected to join and show their support, according to the Washington Post.

Tomorrow’s demonstrations will be the first of many over the coming days. The convoy has been well-stocked on its way across the US, so they are in for the long haul.

US Trucker Convoy Swells As It Moves Across Country To DC

The largest truck convoy in the United States has grown in size since departing California and is attracting thousands of supporters as it makes its way to the East Coast.

The People’s Convoy started with around 150 vehicles and has grown to over 250 as it made its way through Texas and Oklahoma over the weekend.

More vehicles have joined for stretches of time. That, along with the length of the convoy, makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly how many participants it has.

“It varies. Let’s just say there are like 50 truckers that know the convoy is coming through and might have been going through this area. They’ll stop at an exit and they’ll wait for the convoy to come by, and then they’ll join it. They might join it for 200 miles or 100 miles, and then they keep going wherever they were going because they were heading in the same direction as us,” Maureen Steele, one of the convoy’s organizers, told The Epoch Times.

“And then there are cars that join … and some of them go for 30 miles, some go for 100, some for 200, and then they drop off.”

Collin Walters joined the convoy for about 25 miles.

“This is a movement that everybody should be supporting. This is a national event; this is making history,” Walters told The Epoch Times.

“It’s pretty exciting,” he added.

Kathy Walters, his aunt, said she opposes COVID-19 vaccine mandates like the ones the federal government imposed. She sees them as violating Americans’ “free will.”

Convoy organizers say they are against vaccine mandates, the federal government’s continuation of a national emergency declaration over COVID-19, and other actions from President Joe Biden’s administration.

Organizers have been sending drones up periodically to capture estimates of vehicles traveling with the group, which has drawn thousands of people to roadsides as the convoy passes by.

Chuck Frantz showed up to display his support for the convoy in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

“This is getting people’s attention,” Frantz told The Epoch Times on a highway overpass. He described the mandates, some of which have been struck down by courts, as unconstitutional.

A spokesman for the Amarillo, Texas Police Department, which worked to make sure the convoy’s passage was smooth, told The Epoch Times that there were no issues.

KTUL-TV reported that several vehicles in the convoy were involved in a crash about 15 miles west of Big Cabin, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, which didn’t respond to requests for comment, told the broadcaster that the cause of the crash is under investigation.

The convoy stopped in Big Bend, Oklahoma on Sunday night and was prepared to travel to Missouri on Feb. 28. It is on track to arrive in Washington, where authorities are reinstalling fencing around the Capitol, on March 5.

Following Canadian Truckers’ ‘Freedom Convoy,’ U.S. ‘People’s Convoy’ Ready to Roll on Wednesday

The “People’s Convoy,” a U.S. trucker protest against COVID-19 mandates, is set to begin on Wednesday in California.

Inspired by the Canadian truckers’ “Freedom Convoy,” the People’s Convoy is expecting about 1,000 trucks to start the journey east, with more joining along the way.

“We’re going to be starting the convoy out of Barstow, California,” Maureen Steele, the national organizer of the movement, told Newsmax, explaining that the exact location will be announced closer to the start of the event because of the “paramount” concern for operational security.

“The Canadian convoy was pretty organic when it happened,” Steele said. “Ours, they had a month’s notice, so our concern is disruptive groups coming in. We’re trying to just prepare for counter-protests and to take safety precautions for that.”

Truckers can register with their license plates on the organizers’ website “so we know exactly who is in the convoy and to make sure that it’s going to be a safe ride,” she explained.

According to the website, the organization is calling for the “declaration of a national emergency concerning the COVID-19 pandemic be lifted immediately and our cherished Constitution reign supreme.”

The website has its own donation link instead of using GoFundMe or other crowdfunding services. Steele clarified that donations for the convoy will be held with a private bank to prevent them from being frozen by governmental opposition.

“So our funds should not be able to be frozen or hijacked, and all the money is being held by this third-party firm, so we can assure that it absolutely gets to the truckers and it’s clean,” she said. “That’s why it took so long. We have such an infrastructure built for this operation. It took us a while before we could come out.”

The towns where the convoy plans to stop will be announced about 24 hours prior to their arrival for precautionary purposes, Steele said, but she did confirm that they will stop in Arizona and Texas.

A few trucks will be ahead of the convoy “just to check in with law enforcement in towns ahead of the convoy, that if we’re going to be marshaling there that evening, to make sure they’re prepared for a massive convoy to roll into town,” Steele said.

She also noted that people from all walks of life are joining the convoy, from mothers to LGBTQ groups.

“This is everybody,” Steele said. “This is the entire country, every walk of life, every nationality, every facet of community that you can imagine is on board for freedom. We deserve nothing less.”

Truck Drivers Become Biden and Trudeau’s Worst Nightmare, Disrupt US-Canada Border to Protest Vax Mandate

Truckers caused serious disruptions at crossing points between the United States and Canada on Monday to protest COVID-19 vaccine mandates that threaten their livelihoods — and that experts warn could have major ramifications for trade between our two countries.

Dozens of big rigs slow-rolled along Highway 75 near the U.S.-Canada border, clogging access to the border checkpoint and causing delays, to protest mandates that could leave thousands out of work and exasperate problems for an already precarious supply chain in North America.

Starting Saturday, Canada’s federal government ordered that all unvaccinated Canadian truckers returning from the U.S. must quarantine for two weeks and foreign drivers who are unvaccinated no longer can cross into Canada, according to CBC.

Meanwhile, Beginning on Tuesday, the Biden administration will require all foreign drivers to show proof of vaccination to enter the U.S., Reuters reported.

Truckers say these mandates could have “detrimental” impacts on their industry.

“We need to end all of these totalitarian mandates that our government has imposed on us for the last two years,” Rick Wall, president of a trucking firm and the organizer of Monday’s protest, told CBC.

“This is put on by truckers, but we are calling to end all mandates for every single human being in this country, not just for us,” he said. “It’s extremely frustrating.”

Displaying signs opposing the vaccine requirement with slogans such as “Stop Mandates,” “Stop Fascists” and “Freedom to Choose,” truckers and some other vehicles moved in a slow loop between the Emerson, Manitoba, port of entry and the weigh scales.

The slow-roll protest did not block any lanes but slowed traffic considerably in the area, according to CBC.

“We basically all stand in unity,” Wall explained. “When the trucking community unite and stand together, we can create change with the support of others and that’s what we’re trying to accomplish out here.”

Joe Janzen, who owns Smoke’n Transport, told CBC that the vaccine requirement for truckers is just needlessly “messing with people’s lives.”

Rob Penner, CEO of Winnipeg-based Bison Transport, said that while his company is “on board” with the requirement, some of his drivers are now in “limbo” as those who have not been vaccinated are stuck doing domestic routes.

All the while, he told CBC, cross-border truckers have very little contact with others to begin with and had the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in the transport business.

Penner also noted that it’s the consumer who is going to get hit with increased costs thanks to the stringent Canadian and American vaccine requirements.

Industry insiders share his concerns.

Bloomberg’s Jen Skerritt noted last week that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is playing a “dangerous game” by blocking unvaccinated American truckers from entering his country as this makes thousands of drivers ineligible to transport goods into Canada.

That is causing issues for an already strained supply chain as the $45 billion worth of goods that travel between the U.S. and Canada each month rely on steady open travel over the border.

“The new rules could cause a bigger disruption to cross-border shipments than the outbreak of the virus did in March 2020,” Skerritt wrote.

“At the time, Trudeau’s government and the Trump administration agreed to close the land border to non-essential travelers, but trucks were allowed to keep moving,” she said. “The deal helped quell some of the panic in Canada from consumers who rely on food imported from the U.S. and Mexico, especially in the winter.”

Now, however, Canadians are likely to see even more empty shelves at the grocery store. Sylvain Charlebois, a professor and Canadian food supply chain expert, told Skerritt that as the omicron variant slows down the food industry, the vaccine mandate “could add fuel to the fire.”

A separate Bloomberg report noted that the cost of importing produce from Arizona and California to Canada just jumped 25 percent, and some industry insiders say they’re hearing rumors companies are looking to stop shipping perishable goods altogether. Much of Canada’s produce is transported from the U.S, where it is either grown or received from South America at American ports and then driven north.

Trudeau and Biden’s mandates for truckers target an industry that transports 70 percent of goods between their two countries, and as the Biden federal mandate for private employers was halted by the Supreme Court last week, an industry with already low vaccination rates is unlikely to increase the roughly 50-60 percent of truckers who have gotten the jab.

It’s not as if North America was experiencing a shortage of supply chain crises and massive hits to the working and middle classes.

How many workers will be affected by disruptions caused by these mandates? It’s not just the truckers, it’s the workers in all the other industries that rely upon transport to do their business, as well as the consumers.

We’re talking about potentially millions of people whose livelihoods and economic stability are going to be threatened because Trudeau and Biden want to require truckers to get vaccinated — the same truckers who made sure that goods were transported at the peak of the pandemic when no one was vaccinated.

It’s no wonder they’re frustrated.

The delays they caused on Monday are just a drop in the bucket compared with what these far-reaching mandates will do to their industry — and to the rest of us.

First-Ever Fully Autonomous Semi-Truck With No Human On Board Traverses Arizona Highway

Hardly a day goes by without some truck drivers thinking their days are numbered as AI, machine learning, and robotics could soon take their jobs.

In an industry that moves over 70% of U.S. freight by weight and labor and fuel costs are becoming more expensive, transportation companies are itching to swap human drivers for robot ones.

The latest example that automated semi-trucks could be available for commercial use in the next few years was the recent test by San Diego-based TuSimple.

According to a TuSimple press release, the company tested a class 8 vehicle (otherwise known as a trailer tractor) on a public road without human intervention. The nighttime test was conducted on Dec. 22 on an 80 mile stretch of highway between Tucson, Arizona, and Phoenix.

TuSimple “successfully completed the world’s first fully autonomous semi-truck run on open public roads without a human in the vehicle and without human intervention,” the press release said.

The one-hour and 20-minute drive is the first time a class 8 autonomous truck has operated on open public roads without a human in the vehicle and without human intervention and is part of an ongoing test program that will continue into 2022. 

The test was performed in close collaboration with the Arizona Department of Transportation and law enforcement. The autonomous driving test was 100% operated by TuSimple’s ADS without a human on-board, without remote human control of the vehicle, and without traffic intervention. – TuSimple 

TuSimple’s Autonomous Driving System can navigate streets, read traffic signals, maneuver on and off highways, and even change lanes while interacting with other vehicles.

Over the years, we’ve shown readers there is no shortage of reports (read: here & here) suggesting that robots can potentially displace jobs. The signs we see today, focusing on transportation, are that automated trucks could be maneuvering roads and highways by the end of the decade, perhaps as early as 2027. With that being said, all those newly minted drivers who are taking advantage of snarled supply chains might want to come up with a backup plan once automation begins to displace drivers.
