Armored personnel carriers were on the streets of Paris Friday to prepare for the French version of the Freedom Convoy.
French police have warned against participation in a Paris protest, saying that protesters could face two years in prison a big fine, and might be banned from driving, according to the Daily Mail.
French Prime Minister Jean Castex said one should not “associate these virulent attacks against vaccination with the word freedom.”
“If they block Paris or if they try to block the capital, we will have to be very firm,” Castex said, according to The New York Times.
French President Emmanuel Macron also spoke against the protest, saying the nation needed “unity” and “a collective goodwill.”
Protesters said the Freedom Convoy that crossed Canada inspired them to emulate it.
“We’ve been going around in circles for three years. We saw the Canadians and said to ourselves: ‘It’s awesome, what they’re doing.’ In eight days, boom, something was sparked,” protester Jean-Marie Azais said, according to The Guardian.
“People need to see us, and to listen to the people who just want to live a normal and free life,” a woman the Daily Mail identified only as Lisa, 62, said. She was part of a 1,000-vehicle convoy leaving Brittany to head for Paris.
Although opposition to vaccine mandates is a core issue in the protests, one commentator noted it was not the only issue.
“The convoy is not coming out of nowhere,” said Jacob Davey from the Institute of Strategic Dialogue, a London-based think tank that studies “extremism,” according to The Washington Post. “It’s coming out of an established anti-vax, anti-lockdown movement that has been putting down roots in different countries.”
The Belgian capital of Brussels, which is the target for a major protest, and the Austrian capital of Vienna have also banned protesters, although trucks are already reported on the streets of Vienna.
“The Federal Police will control motorized vehicles on the main roads to Brussels that come to demonstrate in Belgium. The Region and the City of Brussels will issue decrees banning demonstrations with trucks on their territory,” a Brussels statement said, according to The Independent.
Austrian police said in routing the convoy into Vienna would cause an “unacceptable nuisance in terms of noise in a popular recreation area” and increase pollution.
“The planned use of horns and loudspeakers to bypass the ring road throughout the evening and night significantly exceeds the level of noise that can otherwise be tolerated,” police said.
Less than a week after GoFundMe, at the behest of the Mayor of Ottawa and Justin Trudeau, summarily closed their fundraiser which had exceeded $10 million, Ontario’s Premier, Doug Ford, has issued an order that essentially freezes any funds that have been raised thus far from the alternate crowdsourcing site ‘GiveSendGo’.
Freezing money from gofundme and givesendgo does not happen in a democratic country.
That is a full blow communism move.
Canadians are not allowed to do what they want with their own money.
If this is allowed with no recourse, it will eventually be much worse.
Statement from the Office of the Premier of Ontario
“Today, the Attorney General brought an application in the Superior Court of Justice for an order pursuant to section 490.8 of the Criminal Code prohibiting any person from disposing of, or otherwise dealing with, in any manner whatsoever, any and all monetary donations made through the Freedom Convoy 2022 and Adopt-a-Trucker campaign pages on the GiveSendGo online fundraising platform.
This afternoon, the order was issued. It binds any and all parties with possession or control over these donations.”

NEW – a White House official says members of the Biden administration held a series of high level calls with their Canadian counterparts, urging them to use their federal powers to end the blockades, offering the full support of the Department of Homeland Security.
GiveSendGo has yet to make a statement on the order.
In a statement on Monday when the company agreed to host the fundraiser, the platform stated, “GiveSendGo stands for hope and freedom. We recognize the freedoms we have are God-given, not authorized by governments, but rather freedoms that ought to be protected by our governments.”
The GiveSendGo fundraiser had raised almost 8.5 million dollars at the time the order was issued.
Anybody interested in the new platform can donate as little as a single Satoshi (presently, about 2,400 satoshis make up $1), and the fundraiser has a target of 2,100,000,000, and has raise 1.594 billion Sats so far (around $700,000).
The fundraiser on Tallycoin has the following message affixed to it:
“The Canadian Bitcoin community would like to have a second financial access point for #FreedomConvoy2022. Legacy financial infrastructure can sometimes be politicized and clamped down upon, whereas Bitcoin is a truly censorship resistant method of communicating value. Don’t allow your voices to be silenced, and don’t allow your financial sovereignty to be trampled upon.
Today it is GoFundMe. In the future, when central banks roll out Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), it’ll be all economic activity that falls within the purview of national and Supra-national government and bureaucracy.
When those days arrive, everybody who will be reliant on government economic entitlements will be enduring a type of neo-Fuedalism: veritably digital slavery.
…Donating to #FreedomConvoy? Listening to Joe Rogan Experience? Those aren’t approved activities. That’ll cost you some demerits.
As of this writing, GoFundMe has cut off (stolen) $9 million from the Canadian Trucker Convoy.
The money was donated by thousands of individuals to support the truckers, who are demanding the Canadian government cancel vaccine mandates, vaccine passports, and brutal COVID restrictions.
After a major backlash from the enraged public, GoFundMe has stated it will automatically refund all $9 million to the individual donors.
Regardless, GoFundMe will not forward the money to the group it was intended for: the truckers.
All right: here come the dots—
A venture capital firm, Accel, and Technology Crossover Ventures, own the majority stake in GoFundMe.
The big infusion of cash that sent Mark Zuckerberg and his fledgling college enterprise on their way came from Accel, in 2004.
Jim Breyer, head of Accel, attached a $13 million rocket to Facebook, and nothing has ever been the same. (Breyer—billionaire, CFR, World Economic Forum, major fund investor in China.)
Earlier in 2004, a man named Gilman Louie joined the board of the National Venture Capital Association of America (NVCA). The chairman of NVCA? Jim Breyer. Gilman Louie happened to be the first CEO of the important CIA start-up, In-Q-Tel.
In-Q-Tel was founded in 1999, with the express purpose of funding companies that could develop technology the CIA would use to “gather data.”
That’s not the only connection between Facebook funder and Accel’s Jim Breyer and the CIA’s man, Gilman Louie. In 2004, Louie went to work for BBN Technologies, headed up by Breyer. Dr. Anita Jones also joined BBN at that time. Jones had worked for the CIA’s In-Q-Tel and was an adviser to DARPA, the Pentagon’s technology department that helped develop the Internet.
With these CIA/DARPA connections, it’s no surprise that Jim Breyer’s jackpot investment in Facebook is not part of the popular mythology of Mark Zuckerberg. Better to omit it. Who can fail to realize that Facebook, with its endless stream of personal data, and its tracking capability, is an ideal CIA asset?
Accel co-owns the majority stake in GoFundMe. Accel has a history of rubbing shoulders with the CIA. Accel helped launch Facebook, the largest profiling and data-mining company in the world.
Given all this, it might be more surprising if GoFundMe DIDN’T cut off the Canadian truckers’ $9 million.
It’s also worth mentioning that Accel has invested in Spotify, the platform whose number-one star is Joe Rogan. Spotify is now under pressure to cancel Rogan, because his views and guests don’t align 100% with the official COVID narrative. In step one of a new censorship program, Spotify has stated it will post warning messages on all content that veers from official COVID positions and offer links to approved government and public health sources (for outrageous lies).
GoFundMe, Accel, Facebook, CIA, In-Q-Tel, Jim Breyer, CFR, World Economic Forum, major investments in China.
Basically, The Club.
The member’s statement of belief: “More money for me, less freedom for the peons, global control.”
An Ottawa Police Staff Sargent is resigning effectively immediately, likely over political leadership’s mishandling of the Freedom Convoy protests.
“The National Telegraph has just gotten word from a source inside the Ottawa Police that one of their staff sergeants has resigned from his position today, likely over a disagreement with the city’s policing philosophy towards the Freedom Convoy,” the National Telegraph reported.
“This is a major development for the Ottawa police as senior NCOs are the core of any police force and enforcing anything without their leadership is extremely difficult,” the report added.
“The source also said that there are unusually high rates of uniformed officers taking stress leave, vacation days, and sick days,” the report noted.
“This is another indicator that people inside the police force are not happy with the directions they are receiving from their political leaders,” the National Telegraph added.
Justin Trudeau’s failed leadership is collapsing as even Liberal MPs are defecting to the anti-mandate side.
Canadian provinces are beginning to revolt and ending their vaccine and mask mandates. Justin Trudeau’s coalition in the Canadian parliament is even showing signs of crumbling, as a Liberal MP is announcing his defection from the pro-mandate side.
“Liberal MP for Louis-Hébert (a suburb of Quebec City) Joël Lightbound came out today and held a press conference about what he called the ‘politicization of the pandemic’,” the National Telegraph reported.
“At this press event, Lightbound explained that he would not engage in ‘these easy and absurd labels’ to smear protesters and believes the truckers and their supporters have legitimate concerns,” he added.
Lightbound explained at his press conference that over half of Canadians want the vaccine mandates and passports lifted.
Another Member of Parliament, a conservative in the House of Commons from Manitoba named Raquel Dancho, laid into Trudeau in an impassioned speech for being so far behind other advanced countries in concluding that authoritarian Covid policies don’t work. Watch:
“There are millions of Canadians, millions of them that have been deeply ostracized from society,” Dancho said. “And when you don’t listen to those people, they mobilize. And we’ve seen protests across this country for over a century and rightfully so, we have the right to peacefully protest. And I would ask the protesters outside that they do their best and stay vigilant, to stay peaceful.”
“But we are seeing other governments around the world step up with lower vaccination rates and say, ‘Look, we hear you, you’ve been traumatized. We’re moving forward. Here’s the deadline, this is the plan. No more mandates, no more masks, no more distancing. You can travel, you can live your life, you can hug each other again. Here’s the date. This is the plan. Here’s the thresholds,” she added.
“None of that in Canada. Absolutely none of that from the Prime Minister,” she went on.
“People have been traumatized and they’re mobilizing because they need some hope, they need somebody in this house of privilege to come down from our ivory towers and say, ‘Okay, little people, we hear you. So sorry we’ve traumatized you for two years. We’re gonna step up and we’re gonna give you some hope. Here’s a deadline.’ The member opposite is laughing,” she noted.
“The people in this house are incredibly privileged,” Dancho added. “You’ve kept — pardon me, that member has kept his job. Thousands of Canadians have lost their job. And he’s laughing about his privilege, his own privilege. What has he done to serve members that are marginalized during this pandemic in his community, Mr. Speaker, but laugh at them in this House of Commons? Shame on that member.”
“I would ask this government to do everything they can, I asked them this two years ago in the House, go to other countries, see what they’re doing, what are the best practices,” she went on. “How is it that other highly advanced, developed nations like the U.K., Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, how — the United States, how is it that they have all the same tools we have, they have all the economic resources we have, they’ve done — their citizens have done all the work and made all the sacrifices. Why is it that those citizens get a plan for hope of when we get back to normal, when we get our lives back, when the people outside — you think they want to be here, Mr. Speaker?”
“Those people don’t want to be here,” she said. “They want to be working. But that right was taken away from them. When is there going to be a plan from this prime minister? When is there going to be compassionate leadership to say, ‘This is it. You’ve done the work. Here’s the tools. We’re moving forward.’ Our public health doctors have told us as well, it’s time to move forward, it’s time to revisit these harsh mandates and divisive policies.”
“Mr. Speaker, I will just end on this and — I’m very passionate about this, I think we all are from our different perspectives, but I will say, I will continue to be a bridge builder to reach out, to try to understand where others are coming from, and I would — I would — it would just be incredible if we could see members of the Liberal Party, the Prime Minister, do the same,” she concluded. “Time to build a bridge, Mr. Speaker.”
Far from being a bridge builder, Justin Trudeau had made incendiary statements and threatened the Freedom Convoy with state force if they did not end their peaceful protests.
“Individuals are trying to blockade our economy, our democracy, and our fellow citizens’ daily lives,” Trudeau said. “It has to stop.”
Trudeau also shows no willingness to lift the vaccine mandates, signaling ominously that they are preventing more coercive measures.
“I can understand frustrations with mandates, but mandates are the way to avoid further restrictions,” he stated.
Trudeau is only just beginning to understand people’s frustrations as both police and politicians defect around him.
A convoy of 2,700 trucks entered Ottawa, Canada’s capital, on January 29 to protest the Covid-19 policies of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau including mandatory vaccination for truckers entering Canada through the US-Canada border. Dubbed the ‘Freedom convoy’, it has amassed support from all sections of the public. The protest is being organized by Canada Unity.
The convoy is 45-50 miles long with supporters lining highways and overpasses along the route. Since January 23, the group’s GoFundMe page raised over ten million dollars Canadian to cover the cost of the journey and to take care of truckers who have settled into Ottawa; the amount was subsequently confiscated by GoFundMe, drawing even more attention. The protests received an additional boost when farmers joined. According to Twitter users, hundreds of farmers have arrived in Ottawa in their tractors. It is a growing protest against the COVID “vaccine” mandates that is inspiring the world and is reportedly coming to the US in March.
“As per reports, the truckers have been camping near Parliament Hill and demanding reversal of all vaccine mandates in the country. A truck driver Harold Jonker told BBC, ‘We want to be free, we want to have our choice again, and we want hope – and the government has taken that away.’ He added, ‘The intent is to stay until all these mandates are dropped…all the truck drivers are used to camping in their trucks all week long. We are staying here until we can go back to work.’”
“The convoys broke world records on the longest convoys in history with many over 40 miles long! The total number of trucks is unknown but it is in the tens of thousands. American truckers have joined. Canadians citizens have rallied to the cause and at every overpass and side road they gathered waving flags, holding signs and giving out supplies to the drivers.”
“At the top of Wednesday’s edition of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan asked his guest Montreal native Valentine Thomas whether she was aware of the convoy. ‘Your country is in revolt. It’s a giant convoy of trucks. That’s apparently some insane amount of people,’ said Rogan. ‘Fifty thousand trucks that are headed to Ottawa to protest the vaccine mandates.’ Rogan told Thomas. ‘Apparently, they are all being mandated to be vaccinated,’ said Rogan. ‘They’re like, ‘Hey, we’re not even in contact with anybody. We’re in our truck. Like, we just drive.’
On Wednesday, Ottawa police estimated there could be up to 2,000 demonstrators in Ottawa to protest their opposition to the vaccine mandate. The demonstration is predicted to last several days.”
“A vaccine mandate for truckers and travelers entering Canada was proverbially the straw that broke the camel’s back and a group of truckers who lost their jobs decided to drive to the nation’s capital Ottawa, Ontario to voice their dissention. The movement has grown exponentially with thousands of semis and private vehicles joining in convoys from across the nation converging on Ottawa on January 29.
The Canadian government has asserted that vaccination is an essential component in moving past the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective Jan. 15, 2022, all travelers entering Canada, including truck drivers, must use ArriveCAN to provide mandatory travel information, including proof of vaccination. The United States has also followed suit with a similar mandate for truckers coming from Canada and Mexico.
‘The small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other, who know of that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values, as a country,’ Prime Minster Trudeau said the 26th of January…..These statements angered many Canadians as they have come out in support of their freedoms regardless of their vaccination status and ethnic background in large numbers.
The convoys officially broke world records on the longest convoys in history with many over 40 miles long…. The total number of trucks is of yet unknown but it is in the tens of thousands. American truckers have also joined. Canadian citizens have rallied to the cause and at every overpass and side road they gathered waving flags, holding signs and giving out supplies to the drivers.
Brian Hunstad of Saskatchewan said that on Monday the 24th when the convoy came through, it met with much support…. ‘we’ve been to a few protests but this was different. No anger, everyone was happy and ready to be done with all these mandates and lockdowns. Just regular people with their families ready for this to be done. Very joyful.’….
The Freedom Convoy organized by Tamara Lich, Benjamin Dichter and Chris Barber held a press conference on Jan. 30…. They plan to peacefully remain in Ottawa until the government restores the freedom of all Canadians by lifting all Covid mandates and allowing the country to return to normal. They said they have enough funds to remain in the capital for years if necessary. The Prime Minister has declined to meet with the truckers and is currently quarantining after a positive Covid test.
The organizers have joined forces with locals and are supplying the needs of the truckers, showers, hot meals, and food. While some of the trucks are lining the streets of Ottawa, many are parked in fields around the city. The group is committed to remaining peaceful, are guarding monuments, shoveling snow, playing hockey, picking up garbage, and feeding the homeless…..
In the last election, Prime Minister Trudeau received 21 percent of the vote but Canada doesn’t have term limits for its leaders. The convoy leaders feel that they are representing the other 80 percent that doesn’t have a voice and have lost jobs and businesses due to the lockdowns.
In some of the provinces, those without a vaccine passport are restricted from shopping, going to gyms, attending sporting events and Quebec was even going to implement a tax on the unvaccinated but that plan is now going to be abandoned.
While thousands gathered in provincial capitals and in Ottawa, many from both sides of the border gathered at several major US/Canada entrances points. The Sweet Grass, Montana/ Coutts, Alberta crossing saw large numbers gather. Jake Zacharias was there with his drone filming on the 29th. ‘We saw people, all kinds, vaccinated, unvaccinated uniting, coming together for the first time in 2 years. We saw hope, we saw people who are done with all the mandates, we saw the Canada we used to have. Freedom to choose. Freedom of speech.’ He estimated that over 1,000 vehicles were at that crossing.”
The video reports that Corporal Bulford, Prime Minister Trudeau’s head of personal security for 8 years, just resigned! Bulford is a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The video explains that the truckers’ movement is turning into a working class revolution in Canada.
“The Freedom convoy had sparked interest and support world-wide. Across Europe, Central America, Australia and the US truckers are organizing their own convoys for freedom. According to the press conference, “the convoy has started a cultural movement for cultural unity in Canada that has blossomed into a global cultural movement, pushing back against the political class who have failed us and are pushing us into serfdom.”
“As hard as it is to imagine, President Biden’s political fortunes are about to get worse. The massive trucker convoy that crossed Canada to protest against that country’s new vaccine mandates will almost certainly be replicated in the U.S. and will bring with it huge headaches for the Biden White House. Biden pretends to be the champion of the “little guy”; he claims to support blue-collar workers. Truckers are exactly the kind of folks Biden is meant to embrace, but he will not do that.
The drivers protesting the vaccine mandates have already been portrayed by the liberal media as right-wing zealots and science deniers, which is only one notch above climate deniers. A Facebook group organizing the U.S. convoy that had amassed 130,000 members has been tossed off the social media platform amid allegations that the movement was being promoted by right-wing extremists, which the organizers deny.
Biden will not dare stand up for the truckers. And yet, if he dismisses them as a ‘small fringe minority,’ as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently did with the ‘Freedom Convoy’ drivers up north, they could get mad. They could, if pushed, call for a sick-out of America’s vital truckers. Whatever supply chain problems we have had would pale before the catastrophe that could unfold if tens of thousands of drivers simply walked off the job for a day or two. Imagine what would happen to transportation costs, and inflation.
The convoy protests would come at an awkward time. The public has had it with the government’s draconian (and largely ineffective) measures to combat COVID-19. Polling shows people are ready to move on. They are emboldened by a growing body of evidence indicating that the restrictions and rules promulgated by our government – under both Presidents Trump and Biden – were a mistake.
A new study from Johns Hopkins University shows that shutting down the country reduced COVID mortality by only 0.2 percent, while causing ‘devastating effects’ on the economy and drastic social ills. Further, the research suggests that lockdowns ‘are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument.’ People are also tired of being told not to question the ‘authorities.’ They are fed up with officials who say immodestly that they represent science even as many of their pronouncements turn out to be worthless.
The recent flap over Joe Rogan’s interview with cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, who is critical of the vaccines and the approach the government has taken, is ridiculous. Why should we not question the science around COVID treatments and approaches? And especially when the costs to society and the economy have been so desperately high? It is a sign of weakness that the authorities are so afraid of debate.
Truckers were driven to protest by new mandates from North America’s governments that anyone driving a rig across the U.S.-Canada border must be vaccinated or quarantined as a condition of being allowed to enter either country. Just like that, truck drivers went from being essential workers, highly lauded for risking their personal health to deliver goods to locked-down communities, to being officially classified as “non-essential” functionaries. They feel jilted by an ungrateful populace.
But the trucker protests have become a rallying point for millions irate about what many view as COVID-inspired overreach by autocratic governments. Thousands turned out to cheer the miles-long convoy across Canada, even though the government of Nova Scotia, literally making the protesters’ case, outlawed people from lining the highways and imposed stiff fines on those who disobeyed.
Trudeau went into hiding when the convoy reached Ottawa, the nation’s capital. Trudeau did himself no favors, condemning the large assembly but refusing to meet with them. Despite his apparent concerns, there was in the large crowd not a single arrest over the past weekend. There were no acts of violence. The liberal media made a big fuss over a supposed desecration of a monument (someone peed on it, apparently) and because someone spotted a Confederate flag.
To the chagrin of the left, it was, to use a once-popular description, a ‘largely peaceful’ protest. This sort of scene will likely be replicated in coming weeks in Washington, D.C. Biden, who constantly reminds voters of his middle-class roots, will face the same issue as Trudeau. Will he demonize the truckers? Will he listen to their grievances? Or will he scurry back to Delaware and hope they all go away?
The trucker rally will draw support from people who are angry that governments have shown indifference to the plight of restauranteurs, hairdressers and countless other small business owners whose livelihoods were callously destroyed by officious bureaucrats. People who are angry that their children have lost immeasurable learning because schools were closed and have suffered emotional impairment as they wear pointless masks day in and day out. They are angry at the stupidity of it all.
Biden misled the public when he promised he had a plan to shut down the virus. Now he has a choice: rebuff the truckers or hear their pleas. Stick to his failing policies or change course and admit mistakes have been made. Declare the vaccines important and helpful, but not the only answer. Admit that we need to accept the virus as part of our lives, that we can move forward and that one size does not fit all.
“Brian Brase, a truck driver from Ohio, is one of the core organizers of a group planning the Convoy to D.C. 2022. Brase said. ‘This is bigger than any one person, company or organization.’ Brase said the convoy is organizing to protest vaccination mandates. He stressed it is not an anti-vaccination movement but rather about ‘human and constitutional rights.’
‘This isn’t about the trucking mandates. There’s so much more in play there. We are just truck drivers standing up for our human rights, and as Americans it’s about our constitutional rights,’ he said. ‘It’s about a human being deciding what gets injected into them. We’re not about shaming people who aren’t vaccinated or shaming those who are. It’s about choice.’
The vaccination mandates in the private sector and at lower government levels are hindering access to healthcare, education and law enforcement – to name a few basic needs – according to Brase. ‘There are good people, good teachers, good nurses, good police officers losing their jobs over these mandates,’ he said.”

Ottawa police have warned supporters of the Freedom Convoy that anyone helping the truckers protesting vaccine mandates could be arrested.
The warning came in a Twitter post issued shortly before 2 p.m. Eastern time that declared: “IMPORTANT: Anyone attempting to bring material supports (gas, etc.) to the demonstrators could be subject to arrest. Enforcement is underway.”
Earlier Sunday, Ottawa police announced via Twitter that more than 450 tickets had been issued since Saturday morning as part of an effort to “reduce the impacts of demonstrators in the downtown core.”
“Overnight, demonstrators exhibited extremely disruptive and unlawful behavior, which presented risks to public safety and unacceptable distress for Ottawa residents,” police said in a statement, according to The Washington Post.
An estimated 500 vehicles remain in Ottawa, according to Fox News. The Freedom Convoy, which began in British Columbia, was developed as a protest against vaccine mandates. Organizers have not said when the protest will end.
“Let me assure the people of Ottawa that we have no intent to stay one day longer than necessary,” Tamara Lich, one of the convoy’s organizers, told reporters last week, according to the Post. “Our departure will be based on the prime minister doing what is right: Ending all mandates and restrictions on our freedoms.”
Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly called the protest “a siege.”
“It is something that is different in our democracy than I’ve ever experienced in my life,” he said Saturday, according to the Post.
“The demonstrators … remain highly organized, well-funded, extremely committed to resisting all attempts to end the demonstrations safely. This remains, as it was from the beginning, an increasingly volatile and increasingly dangerous demonstration.”
A report in the Ottawa Citizen said that Ontario Solicitor General Sylvia Jones said that policing the protest “is a responsibility carried out by local police services across Ontario, who have the resources and authority to ensure their communities remain safe. Politicians at all levels cannot direct the police. To be clear: police services, including the Ottawa Police Service, have full discretion and extensive existing legislative authority under the Criminal Code to respond to and manage demonstrations and take enforcement action, as appropriate, against any individuals committing crimes in their jurisdiction.”
Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson felt differently about the protest.
“The situation at this point is completely out of control, because the individuals with the protest are calling the shots,” he said in a radio interview Sunday, according to the Ottawa Citizen. “They have far more people than we have police officers, and I’ve indicated to the chief that we have to be much more nimble and proactive when it comes to these activities.”
Former President Donald Trump on Friday issued a statement in support of the truckers.
“The Freedom Convoy is peacefully protesting the harsh policies of far-left lunatic Justin Trudeau who has destroyed Canada with insane Covid mandates,” Trump said in his statement.
The statement scolded efforts to block a similar convoy in America from using social media to organize. On Wednesday, Facebook removed the personal account of a man organizing a “Convoy to D.C. 2022,” according to Fox News.
“Now, thankfully, the Freedom Convoy could be coming to DC with American Truckers who want to protest Biden’s ridiculous Covid policies. Facebook is canceling the accounts of Freedom Convoy USA, and GoFundMe is denying access to funds that belong to the Freedom Convoy. This is unacceptable and extremely dangerous in any country that values free expression,” Trump’s statement said.
In the media, it is the worst of protests. For most Canadians it is, by far, the best phenomenon ever to sweep our country.
Every day, we see the media reports here (repeated by politicians and corporate-sponsored news across the globe) condemning the Canadian truckers’ Freedom Convoy as a “dangerous” and “racist” display of “far right extremism.” The “giddy inchoate rage,” (whatever that is) and chaos that must be quashed, violently by military, if necessary.
The contrast is stark between the media story and what we see with our own eyes.
Here is a Top 10 list of things the media say that differ from on-the-ground reality of Canada’s Freedom Convoy.
Media Lie No. 1: The crowds thronging to support the truckers are Canada’s ‘most aggressive citizens,” hate-spewing white misogynists and racists
The media are raging against the people taking part in the trucker Freedom Convoy, describing them as a “horde of Bubbas” and Canada’s “most aggressive citizens.” Prime example: Washington Post op-ed author David Moscrov called the protest a display of “toxic authoritarianist politics.”
Moscrov, author of “Too Dumb for Democracy” (a title that gives you an idea of his regard for the little people), described the hundreds of thousands of people in the Canadian capital on Saturday where he works as a University of Ottawa professor as “driven by a generalized rage, misplaced anger about supply chain challenges and antigovernment sentiment.”
And he played the race card: “These types of groups are typically driven by attitudes, grievances and priorities of such a nature that they pose a particular risk to racialized folks and other groups that are traditionally the target of hate and violence.”
I wonder if Moscrov is talking about people like Bernadette and Anna, two of a group of Polish Canadian women who drove from Toronto to Ottawa on Thursday to bring 1,550 Polish sausages to the truckers, along with bread and buns and hundreds of Polish donuts.
“Should they request some Polish vodka, we’re very happy to bring that too,” Bernadette said.
Why did they do it? “Because we stand behind them.”
“We come from communist country, and we came here because we didn’t want to have oppression. We wanted to live in a free country, and for the last two years we’re living like prisoners,” she said.
“We are being told to stay at home. We’re told not to go to the restaurant, not to go to the church!”
“During communism times, we were able and free to go to the church. I really can’t take it anymore,” Bernadette said, adding that they’d be coming back to Ottawa every two or three days “until it ends,” God bless them.
Moscrov said Canada’s response to these Polish immigrants should be a “doubling down” on them and a “media policy of refusing to platform, humanize, or, God forbid, glorify the convoy and its members beyond the bare necessity of speaking to their existence and outlining a program for pushing back.”
Obviously, Trudeau and the media have been following this policy from the beginning. Dehumanize and push back.
So, the tolerant left in media and politics won’t tell you that the convoy is led by a grandmother with Métis heritage.
They don’t show you the faces of the beautiful Maritime children on the highway who made ham sandwiches for the truckers. Or the Quebecois girls who sent their messages to them.
They don’t show you 76-year-old Judy from Ontario who spent the day baking 10 dozen muffins for the heroes driving for the freedom she knew as a child, that her muzzled grandchildren have lost.
Moscrov doesn’t want you to meet Guy Meister from Aylesford, Nova Scotia, whose heater in his beautiful black Mac truck broke on the two-day drive to Ottawa. David Crowell posted that Guy managed to survive without gloves in the minus-30 weather in his cab without a sleeper for the weekend, until other people discovered his trouble, fixed his truck and helped him out.
Moscrov wouldn’t want you to “humanize” Guy and see these truckers as the kindhearted working-class heroes they are. Not really the sort of people to be “pushed back.”
Michael de Adder, The Washington Post’s liberal political cartoonist, tweeted a cartoon showing trucks with the word “fascism” emblazoned on the sides. I wonder if Michael might see things differently if he met Guy in a pub.
The convoy spirit is not just in Ottawa, however; it’s across the whole land and it’s infectious. The owner of a trucking company describes the reports from his truckers in the convoy who are moved to tears by the generosity and support of Canadians across the land giving free food, hotel rooms on the house, half-price fuel, welcoming the truckers with smiles and open doors and arms.
Media Lie No. 2 : It’s a “small fringe minority.”
This phrase “small fringe minority” has become an international joke. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau first used it to describe one of the largest nonviolent protests in history and then the phrase was echoed by tax-funded media. The government-subsidized CBC has consistently downsized the convoys and the gathering, reporting that on Saturday, January 29, a mere 8,000 people were in Ottawa.
The size of the crowd that converged in Ottawa in the sub-zero temperatures on the weekend was, as the video shows, easily in the hundreds of thousands. It also does not include the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who stood on bridges, spilled out alongside the highways across the country, or escorted the truckers part of the way.
The main artery of the “fringe” Freedom Convoy from the west was estimated to be 75km long, smashing the world record by a multiple of 10. It could be seen from outer space. That didn’t count several other convoys, from the east, and north, feeding into the nation’s capital.
Whatever it was, it wasn’t small, or fringe. The media’s blatant lie about the world’s largest convoy and Canada’s largest-ever protest elicited laughter across the globe.
“It would appear that the so-called ‘fringe minority’ is actually the government,” Elon Musk tweeted wryly.
The fringe minority also broke fundraising records, drumming up more than $10 million in donations on its GoFundMe page in a little over two weeks. That’s a lot of support.
Media Lie No. 3: The Trucker Convoy is led by white supremacist males.
Even if the people are gullible, the leaders of this trucking chaos are criminal, according to the media. None of the media have shown the courage to feature the woman who sparked the convoy, its crowdfunding organizer, Saskatchewan-born Tamara Lich, a calm, Métis-blood mother and grandmother.
The media has described Lich’s affiliation with the Maverick Party in Alberta in tones as though this was akin to ISIS involvement. But the Maverick Party, which seeks “greater fairness and self-determination for western Canadians,” is popular with a broad base of prairie and mountain westerners who feel alienated from Ottawa’s high taxation and left-leaning city politics.
Listen to Lich’s words and decide for yourself whether what she says is kindling hatred of any kind.
“We are here out of love for our families, our communities, and our nation,” Lich told reporters Thursday. “These past two years of COVID-19 mandates have divided us.
“Our movement has grown in Canada and across the world because common people are tired of the mandates and restrictions in their lives that now seem to be doing more harm than good.”
Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Norway, Finland, Ireland and Switzerland have removed all COVID mandates and restrictions, Lich added, and her convoy is calling on Canada to follow suit.
Not a word of racism, or misogyny there. Just unity and a demand for the right to be free of the most draconian COVID restrictions in the world.
Media Lie No. 4: The Freedom Convoy is all anti-vaxxers
An inconvenient fact for the media is that many in the throng they hate are vaccinated. The media apply the slur “anti-vaxxer,” to wave away anyone, including doctors and scientists, who question any government or public health demand in the endless “emergency.”
No doubt, many Canadians in the protest got the shots because they thought it was right and they “trusted the science.” Others, because they were pressured to take warp-speed injections in order to work, fly on a plane, attend college or go to their kids’ game. Many ordinary Canadians chose not to.
The truth is, vaccinated and unvaccinated are standing together against the government and vaccine passports.
The zealots are the people who refuse to recognize the science. Here’s Matt Starr, a Canadian father with a heart condition. He said that his cardiologist and GP endorsed his medical exemption from the shots, which are now known to have caused thousands of cases of serious heart inflammation, myocarditis and pericarditis. Does that make him an “anti-vaxxer”?
Starr was given a QR code to participate in society, but the YMCA refused to recognize his doctor’s decision and wouldn’t let him attend his daughter’s basketball game. Just “following the science.” He might not have supported the truckers before, but Starr’s sure on board now.
Media Lie No. 5: The Freedom Convoy put the city in disarray and disrupted the lives of locals
Well, this is sort of true. Irony of ironies, however. The media echo the views of Doug Ford, premier of Ontario, the man who has led the most harmful and least effective business-bankrupting, mental-health damaging, life-disrupting COVID lockdowns in the world.
“People have to move on,” he said. “Let the people of Ottawa live, let the businesses open up.”
Yep. That’s what this is about. All the inconvenience ends when you let the people of Canada live, when you let their businesses open up.
The inconvenient truth for media: The government has closed the businesses in Ottawa, not the truckers. The government is refusing to recognize Charter Rights and Freedoms of its citizens, not the truckers.
Besides that, not all Ottawa residents feel invaded by the convoy. Some are overjoyed. It’s a matter of perspective, as this Ottawa resident’s tweet illustrates:
Media Lie No. 6: The protesters are violent
There are endless scenes, captured on film, from Ottawa that show the peaceful nature of the protest: truckers playing hockey in the streets, truckers making pizzas, people holding hands singing “We are the World.”
We all remember where we were when the Berlin Wall came down. While it may have seemed that communist rule would go on forever, when the people decided that they had enough suddenly the wall fell. Just like that.
Thus it is after two years of Covid authoritarianism that in Canada the largest truck convoy in history has smashed through the Berlin Wall of tyranny. I have watched as the Canada I once respected as a haven for antiwar Americans in the 1960s turned into one of the most repressive countries on earth. I wondered how a freedom-loving people could allow themselves to be abused by these mini-Stalins without a peep.
But then Canada stood up and showed the rest of the world that freedom can triumph over tyranny if the people demand it. As I say, no army can stop an idea whose time has come.
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau had been basking in his ability to terrorize the population in the name of fighting a virus. He was so confident in his seemingly unlimited power that he felt he could ridicule any Canadian with different views. The prime minister said in a recent interview that unvaccinated Canadians were “extremists,” “misogynists,” and “racists.”
When the Canadian truckers stood up to his tyranny and began their historic convoy to Ottawa, he thought he could continue ridiculing people. The truckers and their supporters were just a “small fringe minority” who hold “unacceptable views,” he confidently claimed. For Trudeau, love of liberty is just an “unacceptable view.”
Less than a week later, as tens of thousands of trucks began entering the capital with millions of supporters behind them, the “brave” Canadian prime minister had fled the city and shuffled off to an undisclosed location.
As Elon Musk tweeted, “It would appear that the so-called ‘fringe minority’ is actually the government.”
The Canadian mainstream media is obviously just as obedient to the regime as ours. They ignored the Freedom Convoy for as long as possible. There was almost no reporting. Then, when it became impossible to ignore, they began to attack and ridicule instead of trying to report it accurately. It was disgusting and almost comical to see a “reporter” from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation suggest that the Canadian Freedom Convoy was cooked up by Putin and the Russians!
Thousands of trucks have arrived in Ottawa. They demand an end to covid tyranny. They are backed by millions of citizens, who braved the Canadian winter at night to cheer the truckers on.
This protest is so important because it’s not limited to Canada. The truckers are being supported worldwide, and a similar convoy is being planned from California to Washington, DC. In a US where grocery store shelves are increasingly bare, the truckers have more leverage than the powers-that-be would like to admit.
If I were prime minister of totalitarian Australia or New Zealand – or most anywhere in Europe – I would be getting pretty nervous right now. Just as the Covid tyranny descended across the globe in a seemingly coordinated fashion, now that the Berlin Wall of the tyrants has been breached, it’s just a matter of time before the shockwaves are felt far and wide.
We owe a debt of gratitude to the Canadian truck drivers. Let’s all do whatever we can to help the freedom movement continue to gather steam!
The Trucker Freedom Convoy to Ottawa Canada entered its second day today, with no signs that things were slowing down. As I have periodically checked in to live streaming throughout the day, I have heard people on the ground in Ottawa state things like: “They think we’re all going home now, but we’re just getting started!”
There was a stage set up in downtown Ottawa this morning where local pastors and others took turns addressing the crowds. The protests have been remarkably peaceful, so far, given the size of the crowds, which even the corporate media admits is in the “thousands” but is probably in the tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands. Some people on the ground are estimating up to 2 million.
And yet, the corporate media continues to characterize the protesters as “radicals” and “domestic terrorists” even suggesting that “Russian actors” are probably fueling the protests.

In some positive news, Scott Moe, the Premier of Saskatchewan, a Canadian province that borders the US, called for an end to vaccine mandates for the truckers.
The trucker convoy has received widespread support and their supporters have raised millions of dollars to support them to cover the cost of fuel and food, making this appear to be more than just a weekend event. Their success this weekend has spurred on plans for other trucker convoys in the U.S. and around the world.
What will happen next? That is the big question facing Canadians and those around the world as they watch what is happening in Ottawa. People are scheduled to return to work tomorrow, Monday morning, including members of Parliament.
Meanwhile, there won’t be many trucks crossing the border between Canada and the U.S., which is sure to exacerbate already stressed supply chain problems.
If this drags on into the week, the Canadian government is sure to take action. But just what that action will be, and whether or not members of the military and RCMP will obey their tyrannical leaders if they ask them to turn on their fellow citizens, is yet to be seen.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was asked today about the 50,000+ truckers and millions of supporters of the “Freedom Convoy” that is headed to Ottawa to protest the heavy-handed government COVID approach.
In true totalitarian fashion, the pontificating pustule of pompous promotion claimed the people protesting his position are a “fringe minority” of the Canadian people, holding “unacceptable views” against his regime.
This guy is almost as bad as Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand. How a majority of Canadian people could possibly support this arrogant and condescending weasel simply shows just how pathetic the political opposition in Canada really is.
Put a solid, strong and articulate conservative up against these creeps and things might change. However, that person needs to be able to look the uber-leftist media in the eye, speak with plain commonsense, and call them on their bulls**t.
“As far as I'm concerned, it's a damned shame that a field as potentially dynamic and vital as journalism should be overrun with dullards, bums, and hacks, hag-ridden with myopia, apathy, and complacence, and generally stuck in a bog of stagnant mediocrity.” -Hunter Thompson
