White House Press Secretary Slips and Says Who She’s Really Reporting To and It’s Not Biden

Joe Hoft
January 22, 2022

For more than a year Americans have wondered who is running the country.  We know it’s not Joe Biden so who is it?

We asked in January 2021 before his inauguration, who was running the Biden gang?

We had indications that perhaps it was Obama that was running this nightmare of a Presidency.  It’s not Biden, that’s for sure.  And it does make sense.  With Biden, Obama can do all the things he wanted to do to this country and yet not take the blame for the reaction to these destructive policies.  Afghanistan is an example of this.

Obama shared the following:

Pelosi slipped and labeled the failed policy mislabeled ‘Build Back Better’ an Obama program.

Now Twitchy reported today on White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki slipping and claiming she reports to Obama.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki was on “The View” yesterday where co-host Ana Navarro got her to circle back to the matter of President Biden saying there’s a possibility the November midterm elections won’t be legitimate.

During the same interview, Psaki moved the needle on some Freudian slip detectors:

So right now bets are that Obama is running the country, despite this being totally illegal.  But since Obama and Biden never respected the law or the US Constitution, this is the best bet on who’s [failing at] running this country.

Hillary Met With Kamala Harris, Is ‘Putting Together Exploratory Committee’ for 2024 Run

OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author’s opinion

Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec explained during an interview on Thursday why he believes Hillary Clinton is already well on her way to staging a political comeback and a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination for 2024.

Specifically, Posobiec, formerly with One America News, said Clinton is already putting together a campaign apparatus.

“Hillary Clinton – mark my words – is putting together a potential exploratory campaign to either primary Joe Biden – I’ve been reporting on this at Human Events for over a month, now – to either primary him or run if he does not run,” he told the Breitbart News Daily podcast with special guest host Jerome Hudson.

“We know that she’s met with Kamala Harris in the White House, so those two are cooking something up, and now all of a sudden, we see this Wall Street Journal article, Doug Schoen’s out there,” Posobiec, a former U.S. Navy intelligence officer, continued.

“Now they’re on CNN talking about, ‘Is Hillary our Beto for 2024?’ This is coming. She is looking for a comeback.”, Doug Schoen’s out there. Now they’re on CNN talking about, ‘Is Hillary our Beto for 2024?’ This is coming. She is looking for a comeback,” he continued.

The left-leaning mainstream media’s effort to promote Clinton is a sign of how weak Democrats’ presidential depth really is in terms of viable candidates, Posobiec suggested.

That’s how bad the Democrats’ bench is. It’s so bad. … They have nowhere else to turn to. Hillary Clinton being the famous – infamous – opportunist that she is, is looking at this situation, she’s reading the tea leaves, and she’s saying, ‘You know what? I can come in and I can beat them in a primary,’ and she might just be right,” he explained.

He went on to say that Biden’s press conference on Wednesday should have been of particular interest to Clinton, indicating that she likely watched it very closely.

“There are three entities who are paying very close attention to that press conference: the leaders of Ukraine, the leaders of Taiwan, and Hillary Clinton,” he said.

Posobiec also offered Republicans some advice heading into the 2022 midterm elections later this fall.

“[Republicans] seem very content to rest on their laurels and ride to victory over the back of Joe Biden and his failures,” he said. “That’s all well and good, but at the same time … if Republicans want to stick the landing, they need to have a strategy to govern from day one, and I haven’t seen that yet, whether it be from Kevin McCarthy or from the Freedom Caucus.

“I haven’t seen that Republican plan, that conservative agenda to say, ‘We are going to return the country to normalcy,’” he offered.

Posobiec’s analysis comes on the heels of another report — this one from the Daily Mail — claiming that both Bill and Hillary Clinton want to get back into the political sphere as Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris flounder and the FX network’s :Impeachment: American Crime Story,” which produced by Monica Lewinsky, flopped.

A campaign finance bundler told Politico Playbook that the Clintons, formerly the Democratic Party’s premier power couple, “don’t want to be pariahs anymore,” adding they believe their ‘centrist’ policies would work.

“It’s less about being kingmakers and more about being relevant and people seeing them as a net positive, not a net negative,” the bundler told Politico, per the Daily Mail.

Notably, when asked last week what the Democrats’ 2024 presidential ticket is going to look like, Vice President Kamala Harris went out of her way to avoid answering.

“I’m sorry, we are thinking about today,” Harris told NBC’s Craig Melvin after he asked the question.

“Honestly, I know why you are asking the question because this is part of the punditry and the gossip around places like Washington, D.C.,” she continued.

Donald Trump Responds to Media Reports Of A ‘Feud’ With Gov. Ron DeSantis

Jon Dougherty
January 21, 2022

OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author’s opinion

Former President Donald Trump addressed reports that he and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are having issues with each other during an interview on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program, Thursday evening.

Previous reporting over the past couple of weeks indicated that Trump and the popular GOP governor may be experiencing a falling out as DeSantis’ stock among GOP voters appeared to be rising as a potential presidential contender in 2024 even as Trump has been teasing another run himself.

The New York Times, for instance, reported this week:

At its core, the dispute amounts to a stand-in for the broader challenge confronting Republicans at the outset of midterm elections. They are led by a defeated former president who demands total fealty, brooks no criticism, and is determined to sniff out, and then snuff out, any threat to his control of the party.

That includes the 43-year-old DeSantis, who has told friends he believes Mr. Trump’s expectation that he bend the knee is asking too much. That refusal has set up a generational clash and a test of loyalty in the de facto capital of today’s G.O.P., one watched by Republicans elsewhere who’ve ridden to power on Mr. Trump’s coattails.

Politico added:

Many conservative media stars, most of whom have long been some of Trump’s most vocal supporters, have been hyping DeSantis in recent months for the governor’s rejection of Covid-related mandates and the constant hammering of President Joe Biden. But the support has increased in intensity in recent weeks, a spike easily noticeable on social media and podcasts throughout the conservative media ecosystem. That support is key in helping DeSantis further expand his footprint with influencers in Republican primary politics ahead of his 2022 reelection and as he weighs a 2024 White House bid.

Hannity went on to ask Trump, point-blank if reports claiming a feud had begun between him and DeSantis were legitimate after he said he was recently informed that DeSantis indicated that there was not “any conflict or bickering” between the two and that it was “total BS” manufactured by the media.

“Is he right?” Hannity asked.

“Well, he is right,” Trump responded. “I get along great with Ron. Ron was very good on the Mueller hoax. He was right up front along with Jim Jordan, and all of the rest of them, they were fantastic. The Republicans really stuck together. And it was a great thing. And Ron was one of them. And Ron wanted to run and I endorsed him. And that helped him greatly,” Trump said.

“And he went on and he’s done a really terrific job in Florida, and I think you know, Ron has been very good,” Trump continued. “He’s been a friend of mine for a long time. It’s totally fake news.

“I think Ron said last week, he said it very publicly, he says the press is never going to get in the middle of my friendship with Donald Trump, we’re not going to do that stuff. And he said it very strongly, I thought it was very interesting, actually. And very nice,” Trump added.

“But he said that, and I agree with him on that 100%. No, I have a very good relationship with Ron and intend to have it for a long time,” he continued.

Also, a spokesperson for DeSantis has publicly refuted the reports of a growing rift.

“It’s not a coincidence that this fabricated media narrative emerged during the worst week of Biden’s presidency to date, as it became clear Biden would not be able to deliver on Build Back Better, enact sweeping legislation to federalize elections, or ‘shut down the virus’ as he had promised during his campaign,” the spokesperson told People Magazine.

“Governor DeSantis remains focused on Florida and works every day to earn Floridians’ support for re-election in November of this year,” she added.

More Than Two Dozen FBI Agents Descend on Home of Texas Democrat Rep. Who Blasted Biden and Harris Over Border Crisis

Cristina Laila
January 19, 2022

What’s going on?

More than two dozen FBI agents descended on Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar’s Laredo, Texas home on Wednesday.

The FBI was also present at Cuellar’s campaign office in Laredo.

“Congressman Cuellar will fully cooperate in any investigation. He is committed to ensuring that justice and the law are upheld,” his office said.

The FBI refused to comment on the ongoing investigation.

Rep. Cuellar, a nine-term Texas Democrat lawmaker who represents an area along the US-Mexico border, has lashed out at both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for allowing illegal aliens to pour over the border.

“I’ve moved on from the vice president to say, ‘OK, let’s work with the ambassadors and let’s work with the State Department. Let’s work with the Homeland Secretary,’” Cuellar said before the holidays.

“I think that’s the way to address it, but I know that the media has put a lot of focus on the vice president, but with all due respect, she was given that title. I don’t think she’s, with all due respect, put the effort in there…We’ve got to look at other folks that have the expertise on that,” he added.

Is this FBI raid revenge for speaking out against the regime?

The Monitor reported:

The FBI conducted what it described as “court-authorized” law enforcement activity at the Laredo home of U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar on Wednesday.

Agents were also present at his downtown campaign office in Laredo.

Although FBI spokesperson Roseanne Hughes did not identify what the agency is investigating, she did issue a statement acknowledging the activity.

“The FBI was present in the vicinity of Windridge Drive and Estate Drive in Laredo conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity,” the statement read. “The FBI cannot provide further comment on an ongoing investigation.”

At Cuellar’s home, located in the 8200 block of Estate Drive, federal vehicles were seen with cases and other items taken from the congressman’s house as over two dozen agents filed in and out of the residence Wednesday afternoon.

Two agents with a clipboard and camera in hand snapped photos of the trucks parked out front. The truck was again photographed and searched by agents using flashlights after the sunset.

According to reports, FBI agents were seen leaving Cuellar’s home Wednesday night with large plastic bins and a computer.

10 Lies Biden Told During His First Press Conference In Months

JORDAN BOYD
JANUARY 19, 2022

President Joe Biden hosted his second solo press conference ever on Wednesday but his attempts to clearly communicate how he plans to fix a country plagued with COVID-19, crime, rising prices, empty shelves, and more were nothing less of a disaster.

Not only did Biden, who was once heralded as the chief unifier of the country, use the presser to repeat rhetoric trashing Republicans, he also did his absolute best to put lipstick on the pig that is the struggling U.S. economy. Unfortunately, no amount of lipstick or whoppers can cover Biden’s terrible and devastating approval rating.

Biden concluded his initial speech by claiming that “the best days of this country are still ahead of us not behind us,” but his optimism is unfounded. Recent polling suggests that only 26 percent of Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction. The majority, however, are left wondering whether Biden will work to fix the myriad of crises he created.

Here are the 10 lies Biden told during his Wednesday press conference.

1. The Nation’s Problem Is COVID

“I know there’s a lot of frustration and fatigue in this country. And we know why: COVID-19, Omicron it has now been challenging us in a way that, it’s the new enemy,” Biden said.

Not only is COVID-19 a virus that’s been around for years now, therefore not making it a “new enemy,” but it’s also not the only thing plaguing voters’ lives or minds. As a matter of fact, while Biden parades around the Capitol encouraging Democrats to abolish the filibuster and legalize illegal voting practices, he’s failing to address the ongoing Southern border crisis, empty shelves, and rising urban crime.

2. Wages Are Up

Early in his speech, Biden claimed that American wages are up. What he failed to address is that real wages have decreased most of the months he’s been in office. Even in months when wages were up, Americans were forced to dig deeper in their pockets to cover their climbing gas, energy, and grocery bills.

3. Biden Created Jobs

Biden tried to circumvent the nation’s economic turmoil by claiming that he created more jobs to stimulate the economy. He ignored, however, the role the government played in creating the recession that caused job loss in the first place. And on the role his own administration played in lining the pockets of Americans with federal cash, Biden was mum.

4. The Supply Chain Crisis Isn’t That Bad

Biden hardly addressed the ongoing supply chain crisis, leading to the often popular #bareshelvesBiden hashtag, and the nation’s rising inflation which continues to plague voters’ lives as they begin considering who to vote for in the 2022 midterms.

The president hinted that the “empty shelves being shown on television” were misleading but even he admitted that they are “a few [percentage] points below what it was before the pandemic.”

5. Inflation Was Already A Thing Before I Took Office

Biden claimed that inflation was increasing long before he assumed office but as recent reports indicate, inflation in the U.S. surged to 7 percent in December 2021, the highest level since 1982.

6. Republicans Want To Steal Minorities’ Right To Vote

In an effort to promote his campaign to initiate a federal takeover of elections, Biden claimed that Republicans want to take away minorities’ rights to vote.

“No matter how hard they make it for minorities to vote, I think you’re going to see them willing to stand in line and … keep them from being able to vote,” Biden said. “I think you’re gonna see the people they’re trying to keep from being able to show up, showing up and making the sacrifice that needs to make in order to change the law back to what it should be.”

7. Schools Aren’t Closed

“You say we’re not going to go back to closing schools. You said that just moments ago, yet they’re closing in some areas. What do you say to those teachers and principals and parents about school closings?” one reporter asked. “And what can your administration do to help make up for learning loss for students?”

“First of all, I put in perspective the question you asked, very few schools are closing,” Biden claimed. “Over 95 percent are still open.”

Yet, since the rise of Omicron in the U.S., reports of schools closing across the country have also risen leaving working parents desperate for in-person learning once more. Thousands of schools that were scheduled to reopen following Christmas break opted for virtual learning until well into January due to panic over COVID-19 spread.

8. Build Back Better Will Save Americans Money

During the conference, Biden repeated the lie that his Build Back Better legislative package “would actually lower or reduce inflation.”

This falsehood has been debunked numerous times but that didn’t stop the president from claiming that his legislation, which actually costs trillions of dollars, won’t cost taxpayers a dime.

9. White House Reporters Are The Most Informed Americans Of All Time

Biden told the White House press pool that they are “more informed than any group of people in America.”

While the statement will probably score him points with openly partisan press pool members, it’s far from the truth.

For more than a year, corporate media reporters who covered Biden’s rise to the presidency and his subsequent time in the White House have overlooked the administration’s failures to laud the Democrat for being a “moral, decent man.” They’ve wasted their precious Q+As with the president on softball questions framed in a positive light, while also failing to ask key ones. They let Biden ramble and frequently fail to point out the obvious lies lacing his winding answers.

10. I Didn’t Compare My Democrat Colleagues To Racists

Biden denied that he compared Democrat filibuster holdouts Sens. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona to confederate leaders.

“I did not say that they were going to be George Wallace or Bull Connor,” Biden claimed. “I said we’re gonna have a decision in history.”

Just last week, however, Biden asked “Do you want to be the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”

“This is the moment to decide, to defend our elections, to defend our democracy. If you do that you will not be alone,” Biden said.

Convicted Pedophile Funneled Millions In Foreign Cash Into Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Campaign

Convicted pedophile, UAE adviser and central witness in former special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, George Nader, has pleaded guilty to his role in helping the UAE funnel millions of dollars in illegal campaign contributions into US campaigns during the 2016 presidential election, according to The Intercept, citing federal court documents filed last month.

In a December sentencing memo, federal prosecutors disclosed that Nader had agreed months early to plead guilty to a single count of felony conspiracy to defraud the US government by pumping millions in donations to Hillary Clinton’s campaign – concealing the foreign origin of the funds.

Nader conspired to hide the funds “out of a desire to lobby on behalf and advance the interests of his client, the government of the United Arab Emirates,” according to the prosecutors’ sentencing memo. Nader received the money for the illegal donations from the UAE government, the memo said. The filing marks the first time that the U.S. government has explicitly accused the UAE, a close ally, of illegally seeking to buy access to candidates during a presidential election.

Nader’s guilty plea opens a new window into the efforts of the United Arab Emirates and its de facto ruler, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, known as MBZ, to influence the outcome of the 2016 election and shape subsequent U.S. policy in the Gulf. The government’s memo notes that Nader and Los Angeles businessperson Ahmad “Andy” Khawaja also sought to cultivate “key figures” in the Trump campaign and that Khawaja donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee. It is unclear where that money came from. -The Intercept

Nader is accused of taking instructions from UAE Crown Prince MBZ, and gave regular updates on his efforts to get close to Clinton.

In total, Nader transferred nearly $5 million from his UAE business to Khawaja – CEO of a Los Angeles-based payment processing company. According to prosecutors, the funds were disguised as a routine business contract between the two men. Of the total transferred, more than $3.5 million came from the UAE government and was given to pro-Clinton Democratic political committees. Prosecutors have yet to publicly identify what happened to the remaining $1.4 million Nader transferred to Khawaja.

In 2016, Khawaja co-hosted an August fundraiser for Clinton which included a laundry list of high-profile guests, including Univision owner Haim Saban, movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg and basketball legend Magic Johnson, according to the report. According to the indictment, Khawaja conspired with six other individuals to conceal his excessive contributions. Others who were indicted were also linked to donations to Clinton and other Democrats.

The indictment quotes an alleged encrypted message that Nader sent an official from Foreign Country A via WhatsApp after Khawaja contributed $275,000 and invited Nader to attend and April 16, 2016, event for presidential Candidate 1.

Wonderful meeting with the Big Lady . . . Cant wait to tell you about it, Nader allegedly wrote, in an apparent reference to Clinton.

The indictment noted that political committees that received funding unwittingly submitted false disclosure reports and were presumably victims of the plot. Still, Hillary Clinton apparently attended numerous events, including small gatherings, with Nader, who on July 19, 2016, messaged the foreign official a photograph of him with Candidate 1s spouse an apparent reference to Bill Clinton at Khawajas home. –Washington Post

Prosecutors have sought a five-year sentence for Nader – after he completes the 10-year sentence he’s currently serving for possessing child pornography, and for sex-trafficking a minor to the US “for the purpose of engaging in criminal sexual activity.”

Nader was arrested in January 2018 at Dulles Airport by agents working for Mueller. A search of his iPhones revealed child pornography, which we imagine was used as leverage to gain his cooperation. Three months later, prosecutors filed charges against Nader for the images – however they were filed under seal and kept secret from Nader’s lawyers while he was working with Mueller.

In July of 2017 – 15 months after Mueller let a serial pedophile roam the streets in the hopes he’d be able to nail Trump, Nader was finally indicted on both the child porn and for sex-trafficking a 14-year-old boy.

And of course, Mueller knew about Nader’s 1991 conviction on child pornography charges in the US – for which he served only six months in a halfway house thanks to his role in helping to free American hostages in Beirut. He was also convicted in the Czech Republic in 2003 on 10 counts of having sex with underage boys, and eventually received a one-year prison sentence.

Ralph Northam Pardons Democrat State Senator Jailed For Underage Sex Crimes in His Final Act as Virginia Governor

Cristina Laila
Published January 16, 2022

Governor Blackface-Klansman Ralph Northam pardoned a Democrat who was jailed for underage sex crimes in his final act as Virginia governor.

Northam pardoned Democrat state senator Joe Morrissey, who was charged for having a sexual relationship with his 17-year-old law firm receptionist.

In 2014, Morrissey, who was 57 years old at the time, was sentenced to 12 months in jail for engaging in sex acts with a 17-year-old.

Morrissey married his receptionist after she turned 18 and they now have four children.

Richmond Times-Dispatch reported:

Gov. Ralph Northam has pardoned Sen. Joe Morrissey, D-Richmond, for a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor related to his relationship with a 17-year-old law firm assistant who later became his wife.

Morrissey, then a delegate, was convicted in 2014. He and his wife, Myrna, are now raising four children.

Morrissey said he learned of the pardon on Thursday. Northam granted him what’s called a simple pardon.

“To say that I was extremely pleased with what the governor did would be, perhaps for me, the understatement of the 2022 General Assembly session,” he said.

“Most importantly, my wife is grateful,” he said.

And although their young children don’t understand a pardon yet, they’ll be grateful someday for the governor’s action, Morrissey said.

Jan. 6 Committee Subpoenas Tech Giants Alphabet, Meta, Reddit, Twitter

Madeleine Hubbard
January 13th, 2022

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol issued subpoenas Thursday to four social media giants – Alphabet, Meta, Reddit and Twitter – to learn about the companies’ roles in the 2020 election as well as in “domestic violent extremism” and “the spread of misinformation.”

Congressional concerns over the spread of misinformation have focused on the social media companies for years. Alphabet is the parent company of Google and Youtube, while Meta is the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

This is the second Jan. 6 committee request for information from Google, Reddit, Facebook and Twitter. The panel said the companies offered “inadequate responses” to its August 2021 request.

“Two key questions for the Select Committee are how the spread of misinformation and violent extremism contributed to the violent attack on our democracy, and what steps—if any—social media companies took to prevent their platforms from being breeding grounds for radicalizing people to violence,” Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) stated.

“It’s disappointing that after months of engagement, we still do not have the documents and information necessary to answer those basic questions,” Thompson said. “The Select Committee is working to get answers for the American people and help ensure nothing like January 6th ever happens again.”

“We cannot allow our important work to be delayed any further,” Thompson added. Midterms are this fall and if the Democrats lose the House majority, the committee likely will be disbanded, so time is running out for the investigation.

The Alphabet subpoena focuses on the company’s subsidiary video platform YouTube. The committee says it “significant communications” took place on Youtube “that were relevant to the planning and execution” of Jan. 6, and livestream videos of the riot were posted on the website.

The committee stated that Meta platforms, notably Facebook, “were reportedly used to share messages of hatred, violence, and incitement; to spread misinformation, disinformation, and conspiracy theories around the election; and to coordinate or attempt to coordinate the Stop the Steal movement.”

The Reddit subpoena states that the ‘subreddit’ group “r/The_Donald” grew on the platform before moving in 2020 to TheDonald.win website, “which ultimately hosted significant discussion and planning related to the January 6th attack.” The website, also known as America.win, is no longer updating.

“I have been contacted by the US Government concerning the January 6th Mostly Peaceful Protests that have been mischaracterized by the Select Committee, Resident Biden, members of the news media, and Democrats in Congress. Because of their continued political persecution of many still being held without bond on what are typically minor charges, I have no desire to speak with any of them,” America.win’s webmaster wrote, explaining that the site will be shutdown for the foreseeable future.

The final subpoena to Twitter alleges that users planned and executed Jan. 6 on the platform. The committee notes that former President Donald Trump and other Twitter users “engaged in communications amplifying allegations of election fraud.” The social media platform was reportedly warned that it was being used to plan potential violence on Jan. 6.

Psaki Explodes When Asked About Biden Comparing Political Opponents to Traitors, Segregationists

Martin Walsh
January 13, 2022

OPINION: This article contains commentary which reflects the author’s opinion

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was visibly irked on Wednesday afternoon when asked about Joe Biden comparing his political opponents to traitors and segregationists.

A report asked Psaki: “Senator Romney today basically said, I’ll use the exact quote, that the speech yesterday that the president gave was quote, ‘Going down the same track and road taken by President Trump,’ in casting a doubt on the reliability of American elections. Does the White House have a response to that?”

“With all due respect to Senator Romney, I think that anyone would note that there’s a night-and-day difference between fomenting an insurrection based on lies totally debunked by 80 judges, including Trump-appointed ones, and election authorities across the country and making objective, true statements, which is what the president made yesterday about the effects of a nationwide, coordinated effort to undermine the Constitutional right to vote,” she claimed.

“I know there has been a lot of claim of the offensive nature of the speech yesterday, which is hilarious on many levels given how many sat silently over the past four years for the former president,” Psaki went on. “But I would note that in our view and the president’s view what is far more offensive is the effort to suppress people’s basic right to exercise who they want to support and who they want to elect.”

“That’s not a partisan thing,” she said. “And that’s why he gave such a strong speech.”

WATCH:

Biden traveled to Georgia on Tuesday and drew immediate pushback from many — including Democrats — over his inflammatory remarks about voting in America.

His comments were even criticized by Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), who admitted that Biden took it too far when he compared his political opponents to traitors and segregationists.

CNN host Jake Tapper asked Durbin during an interview: “Are there not legitimate reasons that a senator, a Democratic senator, might be concerned that changing the filibuster rule will set a horrible precedent that Republicans will exploit to do something like pass a nationwide abortion ban or something like that, without saying that Kyrsten Sinema or Joe Manchin are like Bull Connor or Jefferson Davis?”

Durbin dodged by claiming Democrats should eliminate the Senate filibuster — which requires 60 votes in the Senate to pass legislation — in order to pass their leftist voting package.

Tapper held Durbin’s feet to the fire and asked: “But you’re comparing, or Biden is comparing, and you’re not criticizing, the idea of a legislator reducing the number of days for early voting from 15 to 10 or wanting voters to present a photo ID before they vote, you’re comparing that to Bull Connor, who literally set dogs upon civil rights protestors. George Wallace, who said segregation today, segregation forever, I’m paraphrasing, or Jefferson Davis, the president of the traitorous confederacy. I mean, isn’t that a little stark?”

Durbin finally admitted Biden’s took his rhetoric too far.

“It is stark. And I will concede that point,” Durbin agreed. “But don’t overlook the reality that in 20 different states governed and led by Republicans in legislature and in governorship, and each and every one of them, they are taking step by weary step to make sure that fewer Americans vote.”

Liz Cheney Using Jan. 6 Committee To Attack Those Working to Unseat Her

Jonathan Davis
January 12, 2022

Rep. Liz Cheney, the Wyoming Republican and vehement critic of Donald Trump who has been targeted for a primary challenge by a Trump-backed candidate, is using her position as co-chair of the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 to go after political opponents trying to unseat her, according to a report.

The Federalist noted on Wednesday that earlier this week, the committee, which was hand-picked by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) revealed subpoenas for three advisers to the Trump family: Andrew Surabian and Arthur Schwartz, both of whom have advised Donald Trump Jr., and Ross Worthington, who helped craft Trump’s Jan. 6 speech.

All have been called on to provide the committee with requested documents and to give testimony between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2.

“The Select Committee is seeking information from individuals who were involved with the rally at the Ellipse,” Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., noted in a statement. “Protestors became rioters who carried out a violent attempt to derail the peaceful transfer of power. We have reason to believe the individuals we’ve subpoenaed today have relevant information.”

Noted The Federalist:

Except Surabian, who is advising the Wyoming Values Political Action Committee (PAC) in support of Cheney’s primary challenger attorney Harriet Hageman, had no involvement with the White House protest that the probe has sought to conflate with the violence at the Capitol.

“During the time period that the rally was being organized, Mr. Surabian was overseeing a Super PAC in support of Republican Senate candidates in Georgia,” Surabian attorney Daniel Bean said in a statement.

“Mr. Surabian is a close friend to Donald Trump Jr. and is running a Super PAC that opposes the reelection of one of the members of the committee. Accordingly, we believe this is nothing more than harassment of the Committee’s political opponents and is un-American to the core.”

The outlet continues:

Cheney faces a competitive primary for a fourth term as one of the most unpopular Republicans in the country. Out of three surveys conducted since Cheney’s escalated feud in the election’s aftermath, Cheney failed to land more than 25 percent support among likely primary voters, far short of the 40 percent vote share she earned in her first 2016 House primary.

Running again [in] a state Trump won by a higher margin than anywhere else in the country just more than a year ago, Wyoming Republicans soured on the lawmaker after the then-House GOP Conference chair joined Democrats in their snap-impeachment of the outgoing president. Nine Republicans ultimately joined Cheney in her vote to convict, several of whom already announced their intent to do so calling into question the influence of her highly publicized stunt.

In August, several Wyoming county Republican Party organizations censured Cheney.

“In the immortal words of the 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump …’You’re Fired!’” said letters sent recently to Cheney from GOP officials in Park and Carbon counties.

The following month, Trump came out and formally endorsed one of her primary challengers, Wyoming attorney Harriet Hageman, whom he said “is running against warmonger and disloyal Republican” Cheney.

“Harriet is a fourth-generation daughter of Wyoming, a very successful attorney, and has the support and respect of a truly great U.S. Senator, Wyoming’s own Cynthia Lummis,” Trump continued.

“Harriet Hageman adores the Great State of Wyoming, is strong on Crime and Borders, powerfully supports the Second Amendment, loves our Military and our Vets, and will fight for Election Integrity and Energy Independence (which [President Joe] Biden has already given up),” he added.

“Unlike RINO Liz Cheney, Harriet is all in for America First. Harriet has my Complete and Total Endorsement in replacing the Democrats number one provider of sound bites, Liz Cheney. Make America Great Again!” the former president concluded.
